What Does the following Ultrasound Report Indicate?

I ve recently had an ultrasound due to urinary incontinence and severe abdominal pain, my results showed: uterus 9.6 x 5.6 x 6.6 cm, endometrium measuring 6.2 mm, a 4.4 cm fundal fibroid, with my uterus bulky in appearance, a 1 cm nabothian cyst, right ovary shows a 2.4 cm cyst, in addition, mild post void residual. What does this actually mean? Do I need surgery?

Hi,

You have a bulky uterus which means it is bigger in size than normal however is not a cause for concern. The Nabothian cysts, endometrial thickness of 6.2 mm also do not need any medical intervention. The fibroid which is 4.4 cm needs treatment. It can be medication in starting which can reduce the size significantly however, surgical treatment is a permanent and definitive one.

Ovarian cyst also needs attention as it may cause complication in future like getting twisted or increasing in size further and causing pain and discomfort etc. Surgical intervention for you would depend on your age and other factors like having completed a family etc. I would advise you to go for surgery if you have completed your family. Surgery has very good results with very few complications and fewer risks these days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
